My nails

Ok this may be a distubing picture, but the were worst before. Today marks the third week since I STOPPED biting my nails. Yes I know its a dirty habit and I should have stopped years ago but it was just something passive to me. I finally decided to stop for a rather egoistic reason. One day I realized that if I had the ability to drive myself to lose all that weight, I can probably do anything I set my mind to. So what's biting my nails comapred to the regime I put myself through?
So it started. The first week was the hardest, cause I was so tempted to cut away my nail growth to stop myself from biting (my normal preventive measure). But after that, when some sign of nails started showing, the temptation to bite my dails kind of waivered. Cause of a simple law which guided my weigth loss.
DEFEND THAT YOU HAVE WORKED FOR.
For if you don't you might as well not have worked to begin with.
Now that it has been 3 weeks, I am starting to fel some nail-iness. For example, this week when I booked out, it was the first time in my life I took out my hp battery with my nail. Ans when pressing buttons and stuff, I am starting to feel the presence of THE NAIL... haha. Its like different la when you don't have any nails. Am quite certain I won't be doing any more biting nopw, We'll see how far they can normalize!

Ouch!

Yesterday night this little girl came up to me in the middle of a party and asked me, "Hi what race are you?"

I was stunned and said something stupid like " Erm, Tamil.. I mean Indian.. why?"

She went "Then how come you cannot speak tamil?"

I was dumbfounded, all I could say was smile and say, "Ask her Shivani why...haha"

Ouch. Ok this had to be coming for a long time, just that it had not been played out till now. She was just an innocent little girl who had no ill intention.

To top this I was appauled to see the number of Tamil songs and movies they knew when we were playing sherades... I was lucky my song was "Iruvan". Anythng more and I'll be so stunned.

I mean she's like 6,7?

This won't be the first time, but can I be salvaged? Or is there an acceptable answer to "Then how come you cannot speak tamil"?

Abhi's 20th (Part 2)

Ok so we went to this mediterian restraunt at arab street. I have a feeling her friends chose the place for the belly dancers man! Haha. It was an alakat buffet, the fiid was alritght, but the service sucked. I swear the staff don't understand English! We had to ask for a jug of ice water at least 5 times before they brought us one, and it was not as if it was free! And the worst part was the "food wastage" they charged us which was so un expected. Sorry I so don't want to go into the details of the whole blondity of the situation. It was a birthday, we shld rememebr the fun stuff right?

See what shiva got me started doing..

See la when I light up so 'da glamour' but she has to do everythign with style... haha

Then we decided tog et a taste of the birthday girl...

Ok then.. thats the last time we try anything vegetarian... haha

Abhi's 20th

It all started with the present I guess... and where better to get a present for such an indian-y person than Mustafa!

Yes I had to resort to such means to avoid getting 'Hor lan'. Actually I think that this is a really usuful feature of camera phones... makes reaching new places so idiot proof... unless you're a rupa that is..haha

And FINALLY I found the place...haha

In case you didn't know they have this lame bag surrendering system at mustaafa, at ALL 6 of its entrances. My advice, avoid the main entrances like ENTRANCE-1 where even handbags may be 'sealed' Just head to the more ulu entrances at the back where they are either really nice or just zzz.

Guess who I met there...

Lil' miss vani ya?

Could't let her hat get all the attn now could I?

Yes we were on the fourth floor, and being a mature as we were, we just had to amuse ourselfs. So enjoy the spread below!!

The clown(s)

The Fiend and the blond princess..hahaha

The gremlins... we lk evil don't we?

ROCKER DUDE WITH ROCKER DUDETTE!

Ok so we both had a flu that day thanks to SOME ppl who just have to be sick rite...haha kidding la. So we did the most intellegent thing, we decided to get for our BD girl perfume! Haha shld have seen us la, stuggling to sniff all teh different samples with our stuffy noses. Wished I had my old hands for a sec, so that I had more area to spray on! haha.

We ended up getting her A Jessica PArker perfume caused it smelled indian-y. And thats whay and Indian-y person would like right? And It was accompanied by this adorable card we made from one of her old pics.. She was 9 (so she claimed) in this picture.

Ok the words did not get through in the end cause I wanted to preserve the resolution. But check out the back.

Haha you shld have seen her face when she got the card hahaha.

Ok thats all for now. Will continue with another entry abount the actual BD next weekw ehn I get out of my LAST exercise before ORD ok? Whahaha...

New life, New experiences

PROLOGUE
This entry I probably going to explain my 'absence' from my usual activities like badminton and my ps-ing of my friends over the last few weekends. Why I have been so anonymously busy. It would also explain why I have been spending More time with some people and clear some clouds, so do scroll down for some entry!

Ok I went for this function yesterday at Orchard country club... in the ruby room..

Lets guess who my date was for the night....

Was it A: Geetha, the black duo...

B: Rashmi, the dancer

C: Shivani, yes we know who she is...

Or D: Menuri...

Yes you'd probably have guessed right, its C!

Ok so lets take a look of the real dates of the other 3...

Yes we are four lucky guys... and Ravin had this really cool idea that we all came in

MAT BLACK

Don't we look Just Awesome...

Then Sudhin went "Hey why don't we wear coloured fedora's with matching ties!"

All right man, now tell me that doesn't look style!

Now that we were all stylish and stuff, we decided to act cool and uninterested in our uncoordinated-ly dressed dates..haha!

So they decided to play our game and rushed into their dressing room...

And when they were done...

Then since we were dressed for it, I suggested that we'd might as well just do a dance for the crowd, you know a little something impromptu?

And the gals were like "FOR REAL??!!"

So we hurried off into our pairs and started rehearsing with coordination from our in-house proff. dancer who'd made TV appearances- Rashmi!

And while they were rehearsing, shiva and me were having some fun...

Okok the pic actually goes like this!

Ok she is soo going to kill me for that... haha

And when we came together, we were really qutie good I have to say...

Too bad I haven't figured out how to get the video here yet...=)

EPILOGUE
Okok let me iron out some things. Yes you can pop back your jaws and save your arrows...

Yes I did join in this dance group, an Indian dance group and we have been rehearsing for a few weeks.

Yes we did do an Indian dance khair (don't know why but figured you'd ask tt)

And I too am recovering from the aftershock of all these. Today when I woke up, last night seemed so dreamy... I took some time to absorb it all. I MISS YOU GUYS ALREADY! Haha. Remember, we must use our GV vouchers together k?

Could you imagine me doing anything like this a couple of years back?

Thanks guys for the unforgettable experience and the wonderful memories we've made!

SANGITA ANKURAM '07

Ok I know almost every indian who has half a brain would stay away from these recitals.

And this vibe was VERY obvious when practically every other indian shunned from this recital, even the most rooted ones.

Why did I still go?

REASON ONE

Cause curiosity kills the cat? I had no reason to fear or detest or fear something which I I have no memory of right? I don't have any recollectable memory of going for such a show!

REASON TWO
These gorgeous babes....

Haha you'd probably think these woman would be worth the three hours show I sat through!

In case you'd have figured it out, to my left is Bhavani and to my right is Shivani pilla (yes This is probably you last chance to catch her in a SAREE till her wedding day!) from YI.

Woah they were good. They were really good, especially shivani who got to be kinda like the lead and had this really cool 2min solo at the start of her groups recital. The only thing that kept me in check was recalling her participation in YI choir. Guess she was just a singer all along.

These people have such a cool, quantifiable talent. They even teach Sangeetham (traditional Indian music) to the cutest little kids. How cool is that? I mean take a step back and think about whats your quantifiable talented how it is being used....

MY REVIEW

OK then... the show was like 3 hours long, which requires a good amount of patience to stay awake to. I did get through over 90% of the show I'd have to say, Thanks to the wind section of the chow coupled by a good amount of endurance attained from he army and my exposure to chess games in the past. See my experiences do come in useful?

But its still aroungd to focus on their skill and stuff for so long. And the music is not bad, but not great either. I can see why Sangeetham is 'dying' and is fighting so hard to survive. I can't see sangeetham fighting good cinema music like June Pona, Loosu Penna or Jillendru Oru Kadhall. These aren't really hip hop or rock, and have really good vocals in them. So why would people listen to sangeetham on their MP3's over these? So sad.

The loss its not unfair or anything, just that it is part of natural selection I guess? Maybe in the past where variety was less Sanggetham music had a shot. But now I really don;t see an angle. Or is it just that I have yet to hear a good piece?

Whatever the case the culture should still be preserved la, even if it requires affirmative action and stuff.
